Practical Firefighting Tests Using FireAde 2000

An extensive range of practical firefighting tests have been conducted on a wide variety of fires.

FireAde Source also has video footage on CD Rom that demonstrates the superior performance of FireAde 2000. Please contact us to request a copy.

TRANSFORMER OIL FIRE

A major American Power Plant conducted a fire test involving 15,000 US gallons of hydraulic transformer oil. The tests compared FireAde 2000 and AFFF Foam.

  FireAde 2000

AFFF Foam

Total Time on Scene 40 minutes 12.5 hours
Total Product Used 10 US Gallons 125 US Gallons
Actual Extinguishment Time 1 Minute 24 Seconds 28 Minutes
Total Labor Costs $250 for a 2 crew team $5,200 for a 4 crew team

Heat from the fire was so intense that fire crews had difficulties in establishing a foam blanket before it evaporated. In the AFFF Foam test, fire crews had to remain in attendance for over 12 hours, continuously applying foam to ensure complete extinguishment. After only 30 seconds of applying FireAde 2000 heat sensors indicated a 800oF (426.6oC) drop in temperature and the fire crew was able to stand down after only 40 minutes.

In both cases the transformer was destroyed by the initial explosion. The significant savings made are obvious.

BRUSH WOOD FIRE
These tests were conducted by a fully trained Volunteer Fire Department in the USA.

Approximately 10.3 acres of brush was lit in a controlled situation in order to compare the effectiveness of FireAde 2000 and AFFF Foam.
