FireAde 2000 vs. Dry Chemical Extinguisher on Tire Fires

A major rubber company wanted to compare their own dry-chemical fire extinguishers against FireAde 2000 on fully involved rubber tires!

Six full size rubber tires where allowed to pre-burn until rubber company wanted fire fighters to move in for extinguishment. Note: two piles of tires where allowed to pre-burn. The pile of rubber tires that dry-chemical was used on only contained (3) tires while the FireAde 2000 pile contained (6) tires.

Fire fighters dumped (2) 20 lb. Dry-chemical fire extinguishers unto the burning tire fire. Note: the dry-chemical did not reduce the heat nor smoke from the burning rubber. |

(1) 2-1/2 gallon fire extinguisher charged with 3% FireAde 2000 was able to successfully extinguish (6) fully involved rubber tires! The heat, smoke, and re-ignition possibilites immediately where quenched with FireAde 2000! Note: a second FireAde 2000 fire extinguisher was used to cool all hot spots, making it possible for the rubber company officials to touch the rubber with their bare hands!

The left pile of rubber tires is the result of the rubber company wanting to use their own dry-chemical fire extinguishers on! Things to take note on: 1. The dry-chemical residue is all over the rubber tires and ground and the pile of tires is still burning uncontrollably! 2. The black smoke is so intense that fire crews can't see anything around the pile. 3. The heat is so intense that handling the tires is out of the question. 4. If other piles of tires where located near this pile, it would be a domino affect. |
Conclusion on utilizing FireAde 2000:1. Rapid cooling and extinguishment allowed fire fighter to quickly move in to clean up tires that where burning. 2. Reduced heat results in no re-ignition. This alone is an enormous safety benefit. 3. The thick toxic black smoke is completely eliminated making clean up safer to fire fighters or warehouse employees. 4. Being able to extinguish this amount of burning rubber tires with (1) 2-1/2 gallon fire extinguisher can't be beat. |
